Don't be intimidated by sewing! - start with fabric and pattern selection, sewing terminology, and discussion of basic sewing equipment. Learn the basics of machine operation and construction. You may use our machines if you let us know you need one. Patterns will be included in the class fee. Registration will be required, and a supply list & fabric requirements will be given to you at the first class. Deposit required. Beginner Sewing Learn basic sewing techniques—pattern selection & sizing, fabric selection, pattern layout and cutting, and sewing machine construction. Supplies will be discussed at the first class. 4 weeks—$45 Saturdays, 10am-1 April 19, 26, may 3, 10 Beginning Sewing—Home Dec There are some basic techniques that are used in many home dec projects, including gathering, welting or piping, closures, ties, double fold hems, and boxed edges & corners. We will do beginning sewing projects, from simple bags & totes through garments or quilts (it‘s amazing how much they can do). They learn basic techniques, including using various seam width allowances, cornering, pivoting, curves and straight sewing, zippers, buttonholes, and more! $135 includes all supplies.
